KICKBOXING

When training for competitions we are no longer training the original art it is therefore watered down to the chosen level.

Do not expect to learn real kung fu when participating in competition training only.

The ingredients of real kung fu is normally taught on a one to one basis. It is often spoken and not therefore always demonstrated.

Choose from Light Contact Points & Continuous to Full Contact (San da) sparring.

The training is suitable for all levels. Beginning with hands only, hands and feet before including sweeps and take downs. Some grappling skills are also taught.

The sport is popular with both women and men who wish to gain fitness, good co-ordination skills and excellent flexibility.

The FMA have already gained success in National tournaments.

Team members have already won a number of Gold Silver and Bronze Medals at various UK open Championships.

Q. Can I enter competitions?

A. For those students wishing to compete in competitions, the opportunity to do so exists only once you have gained the necessary experience. The FMA is strict about safety, and no student is allowed to compete in tournaments until the instructor permits them to do so. Dedicated sparring is made available and it is only practiced by those who wish to do so, and in a safe and controlled manner. All students must have the relevant safety equipment.

The group currently meet and train on a Tuesday evening from 6.45 - 7.45pm
